As if you didn’t guess, heh. I’ll be posting soon. ATM I’m at my new job after hours talking to a co-worker. I decided to delete this in case it came back to bite me in the ass. And we’ll leave it at that.
Heya guys!! So it’s about time to finally get down to the Best in Slot Items for T10 ICC content. As always, I do not go by “what the pros” say is the best items for you.
I found several “BISI” lists (even on EJ) where the Melee Hit and Expertise caps were not even considered with itemization picks.
On top of that, there is the “style” factor. I personally like having 5 of 5 T10 regardless of someone else’s opinion that by spending 15k gold you could get 30 AP more!!! ZOMG!!! Yeah, no thanks… Never mind the fact that doing so leaves you well below Expertise needs…
For those unfamiliar with Hit/Expertise needs for a DK, or just wouldn’t mind a refresher, please go see my post: Hit and Expertise Revisited (click it)
T10 Best in Slot (Unholy)
Please note the title says “Skeleton Jack’s”. I play Unholy.
This is not including Heroic tier gear. If you’re good enough to get that level of gear, you’re smart enough to use this list to get the BISI from there.
This nets you with items/talents 7.27% Hit and 27.18 Expertise. Slot one Yellow slot with an Rigid King’s Amber (for a final total of 7.88% Hit) and use one Nightmare Tear for your metasocket requirement. Then slot nothing but Bold Cardinal Rubies and Inscribed Ametrines depending on socket bonuses. Try to get in a Draenei group if you’re Alliance to mitigate the 0.12% discrepancy, but it’s honestly not a big deal.
PS – IT - HS – HS - DS - RP // DS – HS – HS – HS – HS - RP
Priority System: Unlike most specs, there is not really a priority system because there are no spare GCD’s in this rotation. It has been proven Blood does best in BP (not UP) even though it uses all available GCD’s.
You must keep your rotation perfect. If you have a terrible ms/lag, this spec/rotation may prove difficult for you.
Always keep the 2SR in mind however, as you will want to fire off DC’s and HoW between GCD’s when possible. RP is when you dump your Runic Power.
Note: I am not a fan of Blood Worms as it will eat up AoE healing in a raid. In essence, it can and will lead to raid deaths or unnecessary pressure on healers. Because of that, I spend the typical 3 points in BW into defensive/utility talents since there are 0 available dps talents available at that point. YMMV.
You may also find that you wish to move some of the points around in the Unholy tree, which is fine. Just keep Necrosis at 4/5 minimum and BCB at 3/3 minimum.
Frost 3.3 (Dual Wield) PvE DPS
The clear leader for 3.3 is still Frost DW (read DW Frost beats DW Unholy for those who have issues with understanding text). And while Unholy DW is not dead, it is not good enough to really bear investigation at this point. I may look into it later for the diehards, but for now we’re letting it slide. The Pestilence spec is still viable (and fun IMHO) so I included it still. But most likely a standard rotation with the new Glyph of Icy Touch will win out.
Priority System: Diseases (FF > BP) > KM Rime > MaxRP-Dump > OB > BS > FS > Rime. It is important to understand that Rune abilities always take priority over RP abilities. The one exception to Rune > RP is if you will go over your RP cap (thereby losing potential RP), then immediately fire off a RP ability.
Always keep the 2SR in mind however, as you will want to fire off FS/HB Rime procs and HoW between GCD’s when possible. Don’t just RP dump at the end of a rotation. RP is when you dump your Runic Power.
Howling Blast/Rime Procs: Attempt to use these with KM procs whenever possible due to HB having a lower crit % chance than FS. Do not push back a rotation however to do this. If you have spare GCD’s then it is ok to delay a Rime proc. Otherwise use KM on FS’s.
Notes: FC/RI is a far superior Runeforge setup for dps in any encounter where you’re basically sitting on one target for over a full minute. FC/CG becomes superior when combined with Howling Blast for massive AoE damage. Basically this comes down to the type of encounters you will be facing.
Moving points with this spec is fine. The major points here for some are Unbreakable Armor and Subversion. If you’re stealing too much threat try losing BCB for Subversion. As to UA, drop a point somewhere and take it if it’s important to you.
IT – PS – BS - Pest – OB – RP // OB – OB – OB – RP (Set up rotation)
OB - BS - Pest – OB – RP // OB – OB – OB – RP (Future rotations once diseases are applied)
Priority System: Diseases (FF > BP // or Pest) > KM Rime > MaxRP-Dump > OB > BS > FS > Rime.

This rotation/spec will not proc IIT due to Pest refreshing the diseases and spec variations.
Notes: FC/RI is a far superior Runeforge setup for dps in any encounter where you’re basically sitting on one target for over a full minute. FC/CG becomes superior when combined with Howling Blast for massive AoE damage. Basically this comes down to the type of encounters you will be facing.
Moving points out of Unholy and into Frost is ok so long as you keep Necrosis at 5/5 minimum and BCB at 3/3 minimum.
Unholy 3.3 PvE DPS
Unholy has gone under some significant changes since the inception of Death Knights. It’s mostly due to issues with Scourge Strike and Unholy Blight because it lead to OP awesomeness in PvP and AoE situations.
But it honestly looks like Blizzard might *finally* be happy with where Unholy is.
Wait…there’s 4 points left over… I know. We’ll get to that.
Rotations
PS – IT - BS - BS - SS - RP // SS - SS - SS – RP
Priority System: Diseases (BP > FF) > MaxRP-Dump > SS > BS > DC. It is important to understand that Rune abilities always take priority over RP abilities. The one exception to Rune > RP is if you will go over your RP cap (thereby losing potential RP), then immediately fire off a RP ability.
Always keep the 2SR in mind however, as you will want to fire off DC’s and HoW between GCD’s when possible. Don’t just RP dump at the end of a rotation.
Notes: You have 4 points left over to spend still. Why? Because I think depending on your playstyle these 4 points can vary a *lot*. The options you should be looking at are: Dark Conviction, Necrosis, Improved Unholy Presence, Ghoul Frenzy, and Corpse Explosion. The top DPS choice is likely DC. But a strong argument can be made for IUP for movement fights.
GF is only if you can’t keep your ghoul alive, but with the new changes I can’t see how that’s possible. CE is for that extra AoE love, and pure fun factor.
Caveat
I put this together on the fly today while trying to respec, do the new heroics, and prep for my 10man raid into the new content. So there might be a few mistakes. If you find them, leave a comment and I’ll fix it. I hope to have more specs for Tanks and PvP soon.
Sooo… I used to be loaded in game. Absolutely butt tons of gold. But I did something with a large portion of it that I’m not free to admit to here in the public eye. And then on top of that, I had to make that payout for the winner of the donations to Eleanor (lil girl with cancer, the daughter of an in game friend of mine). Plus, when I quit I sent off all of my stuff to my friends.
So now I’m poor. I’ve been trying to find new ways of making income. The gem market, where I’ve always traditionally made my income for the past 3 years is…different now. Ore prices are so high that buying ore to prospect is no longer efficient with the advent of epic gems. So that means farming. I hate farming. *REALLY* hate farming…
But, I did just so happen to come across a great lil video for helping you efficiently farm to your heart’s content. So I’m sharing it with you guys. I got it from: http://www.makewowgold.com/
I was pretty impressed by how well this video lays out how to use these addons. If you farm, this is a good way to go.
And for everyone else, if you’ve got ways to make gold without “farming” herbs/ore/leather gimme a shout. I’m curious. My old methods are failing me now, and I fully plan to get back to over 100k gold again.
Heya guys!! So my guild, Paragon, has been working on getting people their meta achievements for mounts before the 3.3 release. And I was lucky enough to come along for some of it. They’ve done Gen Vez before, but this was their 2nd Firefighter achievement. It was really cool getting to do that one.

Just dropping a fun screenshot post!! Catch you guys soon!!
So I’ve been going through a lot of WoW information recently and recently came across this quote in reference to Cataclysm, “”More raid content” than previous expansions.”
BC was the biggest raid content release at:
Single Boss Raids
Magtheridon’s Lair (1 boss)
Gruul’s Lair (2 bosses)
10 Man Raids
Karazhan (10man)
Zul’aman (10man)
25 Man Raids
Serpentshrine Cavern (25 man)
The Eye (25 man)
Hyjal Summit (25 man)
Black Temple (25 man)
Sunwell (25 man)
So if we count two 10mans as one 25man, then that would imply that we’ll be seeing 6+ 25man raids and 3+ single boss raids. Seems a little unbelievable to me personally considering that Blizzard seriously cut a ton of corners with the raid content in LK. But hey, I’m open minded. Maybe they’ll surprise me.
Outside of Death Knights, I’ve found all of LK to be lack luster. The two shining gems have been Ulduar and Wrathgate. For me anyways…
Speaking of WRATHGATE!!! Anyone feel like a gander? I sure do.
HD Wrathgate INC!!
SJ’s Specs!!
No breakdowns guys, just the down and dirty. These are my personal specs, not the ultimate end game perfect specs.
Now these are by no means perfect, or even 100% matching to what you might see on my armory atm… >.< Heh. But at a glance they match basically what I did online, with maybe a minor personal change in there. I’m also not so sure about that SS Glyph…thought it still proc’d fresh diseases. Just noticing this added duration crap. Bleh.
Oh yeah, and I’m a selfish Frosty!! I don’t raid buff in that one.
SJ’s Outdated DPS!!
Uhm this has been more of an interesting point. If it’s an AoE fight at all I can hold my own and stay in the top5 so long as I don’t die or screw up. If it’s not, I’m in a bit of trouble. But on Heroic 25 ToC I was hitting the 9k DPS mark on several occasions at Anub’arak even with my crap gear. I’ve still got like 5 pieces of Naxx level gear on SJ (BISI for Naxx level, but Naxx level all the same).
It’s been interesting though… I’m used to seeing other DK’s out there and getting to stand there all “smug and snobby” as my roomie Garroc likes to say. He calls me a “WoW Snob”, lmao. But as I was saying, I’d look at other DK’s (on my server) and know I had better gear. Always. I had the very first Betrayer of Humanity on our server, and many other first time item drops.
But not no more!! I’ve seen random newb PuG DK’s who make my gear look bad, rofl. And it’s AWESOME!! I can’t express in words how much fun it is to finally have more content to tackle than I can dive into!! But more on that later. That’s a post all unto itself.
I’ve basically decided to not be as stingy on spending DKP like I normally am. But it’s probably going to be another 2-3 months before my gear is a proper level (at least in my eyes).
So it’s not really my Ony cherry, but it was Skeleton Jack’s first time anyways. I remember the original bad a$$ Ony from back in the day after crawling my way through the massive quest chain referred to as Jailbreak for the old timers out there.
But I digress… Here’s good ol’ SJ earning his wings.
25 Man
10 Man
I’m not really so sure 6.6K DPS on Ony is all that great for me (I was in a PuG)… But I’m in outdated gear now, using a sub-optimal spec, and rusty as hell. So I’m happy with how the run went!
