I’ve done the burn out thing before and it’s a pretty miserable place in life to hit.  So we’re dodging that bullet.  As such, that means that something somewhere is going to take a hit.  My first instinct is to make that this website.  Not to say I’m dropping it, but that it won’t get the same level of detail or attention that you may be used to.

This will be the place I drop articles that Force Junkies isn’t interested in posting.  Personal posts, highlighted videos of both successes and failures, and perhaps some day to day thoughts like this.  With me talking to you guys.  Soon I’m going to be working on some posts over at Force Junkies all about Sentinels and Marauders.  And if I can do a good enough job to get a column going then you will have something to look forward to still.  And I’ll tell you guys all about it.

For now, we’ll take it how it comes.  I’m going to be trying to work on my next article for FJ, and get some highlights done from the past week of playing.

Had a blast in this fight pulling off a 1v3 and killing 2 of them before I was forced to run!!

Everything was reset…

Which means that several hours worth of research on SWTOR was lost as well.  I forgot to back that up.  But it’s all good, because we are starting from scratch here.  Which has been awesome btw.  I have a much firmer grasp on HTML now, I’ve got permissions granted that were previously denied to me, and the website looks better than ever.

Current Projects

Crafting/Gathering skills have been my initial project.  I will be putting out a comprehensive guide on which skills go together, how to use them, and basically how to make your life easier when you get to level 10.  Their crafting system is not intuitive coming from previous MMO models, but once you know the basics its very, very simple.

Once that is complete I will be putting together leveling specs pointed towards the easiest leveling possible, with notations on modifications for Flashpoints and Warzones.  Simultaneously I will also be preparing a comprehensive list of cross faction abilities (Sith Warrior Marauder compared to Jedi Knight Sentinel).  That way everyone will know what I’m talking about no matter their faction.

From there we will see.  But unlike my previous history, I will likely focus more on leveling tips and guides as this is a brand new MMO.  Unlike Death Knights in WoW where you already knew the basics of the game, SWTOR will be a mystery for many players out there.

Video Capture/Editing

I have not started on this yet, but I need to soon.  I need to find/get software for capturing in game video, and then edit it to add in voice over commentary.  If anyone knows a good guide, site, video, software, etc…  Let me know please!!

Twitch TV records my streams and I can later cut out the sections I want, but it’s only stream level quality.  I can’t get true HD 1080p that way.  I am very interested in putting together video guides, but it is something I have zero experience in to date.

Considering bringing on Players/Writers…

Do you have what it takes to write top notch articles about SWTOR, or create amazing videos/streams?  And would you like to be a part of Skeleton Jack Gaming?  If so, prove your worth.  Drop me a line with samples of videos or articles and we can go from there.  This isn’t something I have to have on my site, so keep that in mind.  Articles and Videos that truly stand out are the only things I am looking for.

So why are they there?  I purchased my domain (a few hundred bucks a year) and also upgraded to the fastest internet package possible (almost $100 a month) for streaming/gaming purposes.  On top of that, I’ve added on several hardware pieces to my gaming rig for the purposes of streaming (and plan to add more).  So when it comes down to it, I’m dropping cash on gaming beyond what the average gamer does.

On top of that, I spend an amount of time on gaming equivalent to 30-50 hours a week if you include actual play time.  Discounting play time however, researching, writing, posting, working on the site, etc… takes up 20-30 hours a week.  Essentially it’s like having a part time job.

But this is my hobby and I enjoy doing it.  I don’t expect anything from anyone and I would do this regardless.  But if you want to support the site and the work that I do, those Ads and the Donate button are there.  Most people will ignore them and that’s ok by me.  :)

Tabula Rasa

People often times wish for a clean slate so they can start over, but life doesn’t often offer that opportunity.  Websites on the other hand do.  They have delete buttons.  :)

I played Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR) during this weekend’s Beta test, and I had a blast.  So trust me when I say this, SWTOR is going to be fun as hell!  You need to get this game.

When the Beta servers shut down tonight I didn’t go back to playing LoL or Skyrim.  I started testing out my stream settings, looking up SWTOR info, doing research, etc…  The kind of stuff I do when I’m hooked.

So starting today, this site gets a clean slate.

Skeleton Jack the Jedi Knight

Former WoW Unholy Death Knight, current Jedi Knight Sentinel, Skeleton Jack is going to be your source for the Jedi Knight Sentinel Advanced Class in SWTOR.  With the added benefit of extensive experience of what to do, and what not to do, when blogging about a video game.

I will be offering live streams of SWTOR, guides, specs, rotations, gear optimization, obrservations of the game, and much much more.  The same level of quality that earned me my reputation in WoW, but better.
