Heya guys!!  Today is finally the day where I ask you guys to donate real life cash to help a 5 year old girl suffering with cancer.  In return you’ll get a chance to win 20,000 gold and a year’s subscription to WoW possibly.  And hopefully some peace of mind as well for doing the right thing.

What’s going on?

Not too far back I met a woman in World of Warcraft who simply put, stopped me in my tracks.  I knew instantly that I’d become friends with her, and that she was an incredibly cool person.  Since then we’ve become friends and I’ve gotten a chance to learn about her life.  And a hard life it’s been.  She was suffering from a *major* disease herself (and about to finally get treatment) when she learned that her daughter had developed cancer. 

Her daughter is 5 years old.  Five years old and is dying of cancer.  Needless to say she put her own personal needs to the side, suffering, all the while doing everything possible to take care of her precious little girl.  And she’s never asked for anything.  Nothing.  Can you imagine?

When I found out about all of this my heart broke.  This one hits a little close to home to begin with.  But adding in that it’s happening to not only a friend of mine, but a child at that.  It kills me.  I really want to cry when I think about.

I thought about a lot of things to do to help her and Eleanor out.  I honestly even thought about decking out my toon SJ as much as possible and then auctioning him off for the cause.  I could always level up a new toon.  But as there are some EULA issues with Blizzard concerning that option, I finally decided instead to do a non-profit raffle.  Figured it’d be a good thing.

And believe it or not I had to fight tooth and nail to convince my friend to let me do this for Eleanor.  She fought me.  Hard.  It took me forever to just get her to finalize the banking details to set this up.  But in the end, the fact that she is a mom won out.  She saw my point that this is about Eleanor and no one else.  She didn’t want to beg for help or have people take pity on her.  She wanted to be strong.

Hopefully some of my readers can be strong enough to help support her.  She needs it.

Also if you wish to see what she looks like, she is actually in a commercial for Seattle Children’s Hospital here at this LINK.  If you watch the 60 second commercial:  Anthem – 60 second TV, and go 20 seconds in you will see a little angel riding a tricycle while her dad (off screen) is running with her to keep her IV stand close enough so she can actually do something so simple as to ride a trike.  When was the last time you saw a child have to have an adult run with them carrying medical equipment just so they could enjoy something so simple? 

Her cancer is bad.  The kind where in the best of care she can only hope for a 40% chance of survival.

The Raffle

This is a 100% non-profit raffle.  I am personally throwing in my own in game gold for the prize and then transfering toons to the winner’s server to give them the gold.  If the subscription is won, the WoW cards will be shipped (or the verification codes) as appropriate and expediently.  No one is making money off this and the EULA is not being broken.

If you wish to donate money to Ella then we will love you for it.  Any amount you wish to donate is acceptable.  Seriously, anything helps.

Heya guys!!  I’m a new and recent fan of the Australian TV show called The Chaser’s WAR on Everything, airing on G4 TV for us down here in New Orleans.  But they had a hysterical clip I just saw this evening, and I’d thought I’d share it with you.  LOL

Heya guys!!  Merry Christmas!!  It’s that time of the year with presents a plenty, holiday cheer, and presents!!  What do you mean I already said presents?!  STFU you newb.  OMFG!!!  It’s Christmas!!!  HELLO!?!?!  Christmas is a direct translation from Anglo Saxon derivatives meaning PRESENT DAY!!!!  Sheesh, uneducated people…I swear!!

You believe some people?!?  You’d think this was a holiday all about some ancient religion with a spiritual connotation using the winter solstice to convert pagans into a faith not their own…

What?  Blasphemy you say!?!?  Beware sick humor and NSFW approaching at LIGHT SPEED!!!!

No really though.  Whether you’re a Christian, Agnostic, non-denominational, Jew, or whatever your preference is…Merry Christmas!!    Or as the media has made it…HAPPY PRESENT DAY!!! 

So I was getting my WoW groove on, like any good little death knight would, and I decided to get in some PvP a while back.  Cool right?  Kill some horde, get some honor, and beat my frustrations into someone else’s face.  Groove on!!

No.  I was transported into HELL!!!!  OMFG it was horrifying.  I load in to Alterac Valley and start running to the gate.  Everything was going fine.  Until…I noticed I wasn’t staring at the back of anyone’s head…  In fact I can’t see anyone…  Until I look down.  I’M SURROUNDED BY GNOMES!!!!

Yes, gnomes just like these!!  EVERYWHERE!!!  I was in HELL!!!  Stupid Blizzard making some damn achievement where you have to get so many HK’s in GNOME FORM!!!!  GNOME FORM!!!  Yes, you read that right.  Their evil predications have expanded to force you into dressing like little midgets from hell!!  /shudder

And then someone had the nerve to use the most evil, vile, awful, despicable, horrific creation ever made by Blizzard.  The Choo Choo Train.  39 gnomes screaming CHOO CHOO CHUGGA CHUGGA CHOO CHOO!!!!  Oh the nightmares…. *huddle*  I will never be the same.  And if you don’t know about the Choo Choo Train toy…thank God for ignorace this time.

So, for “Present Day” I decided to deck out my Ghoul.  I mean, he’s been a good minion and all.  So he deserves something right?  I send him with some gold over to the AH so he can get some new gear, or something…and after he walks away from the mailbox…I see this.

I mean…wow.  Just wow…  But I mean, it’s his gold right?  Psssttt.  He thinks he’s got game.  He’s trying to hook up with some of the Forsaken…which that is its own level of gross I can’t even explain.  Damn…I’m gonna hurl again…  /run

*5 minutes later and after a good use of my toothpaste and toothbrush*

So apparently Bonechewer saw a Warlock showing his “appreciation” to his succubus one day…

But apparently Bonechewer ate too many of his own brains and missed the whole part about the magical domination subjugating the succubus’s will through rituals…you don’t care.  He MADE her do it.  Which…I’m a bit more worried about Bonechewer trying to “make” a Forsaken do anything…like that…  Oh God.  Just scour my mind with bleach.  /cringe

So this gnome I know…she’s ok.  Little miss Tinytot.  She’s alright…for a gnome.  She’s all talking like, “I love muffins!!  Blueberry this, blueberry that!!  And I like candy, and candy canes, and nom nom nom noms!!”  *roll eyes*  And then she talks about cupcakes.

All joking aside for a minute.

My holiday special feels a little helter skelter.  And I apologize.  I hope the humorous moments make up for the lack of true continuity.  Christmas is not my day or holiday.  Can’t help but keep thinking about my dad, and it’s throwing off my writing skills.  Very major lack of focus atm.  But Christmas really is a special time.  It’s a celebration of family, faith, friends, or anything else that you hold dear.  And while many people find this time of the year depressing I hope that you, my readers, can hopefully find that not to be the case.

And if you don’t have much to celebrate now, think about what you can celebrate in the future.  I still dream of the day where I meet my “Sally”.

She’s out there somewhere, if not in front of me atm.  I’ll find/meet her one day.  The same holds true for you guys.  Whether it be that girl/guy, that upcoming vacation, those fireworks for New Years, that next big content patch releasing Uludar…or whatever fills your Twinkie.  Good thoughts guys.  Enjoy your holiday.  Be safe and well.

Heya guys!!  It’s Christmas Eve and the time for Old Saint Nick, Christmas, Carols, Christmas Cheer, etc!!

Sometimes the most important thing in life is to do things for others, and not yourself.  Now I don’t mean you go kill yourself to save your ally in WoW.  That’s just crazy talk.  I mean, they can die.  But we’re not.  “Suffer Well Brother.”  Did you see die well in there at all??  I sure as hell didn’t.  heh

But in all seriousness, sometimes doing something nice for someone else is just a great thing to do.

After I got off of work today I came home and found my website looked poopy.  I had exceeded my bandwidth apparently, and they turned my pictures off.  Haters!!!  Now I was torn at the time.  Part of me was stoked that I had so many readers as to exceed any bandwidth…but then I was also pissed off about my pictures.  heh

Apparently there is an issue with hosting my pictures on my site.  The software is there and supported, but it’s borked for some reason.  Even my techie guy can’t make it work.  So I use photobucket.  *shrug*  Well I looked up what I had to do to upgrade…and I wasn’t sure about it.  I am tight on cash atm, but figured when I got home I’d just upgrade to “Pro” for 3 months and try to fix my hosting capacity in that time.  But I had things to do.

So I got cleaned up and headed out.  I’ve got a friend that I’ve known now for…good lord like 25 years?  He is my oldest friend in the world.  He’s on disability due to several health issues, and an amazing guy.  He can’t drive.  And he was in ICU and bedridden for about 3 months almost not too long back.  He’s not exactly wealthy, as you can imagine.  I’ve always kept in touch with him, driven him around town so he can hang out with me and my friends, and just making sure he’s ok.  Well…he gave me an amazing birthday present last month.  It shocked me.  It was significant.

And it helped me out a lot.  It got me a great present I enjoy and allowed me to get my best friend a great present for his birthday as well (we’re like 2 weeks apart in age).  But like I said, he’s not well off.  He had to go out of his way to do that.  So I went and picked up the Player Handbook for 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons for him.  Yes, we’re gamer geeks to the core.    We play DnD on Sunday nights and he doesn’t own his own book.  I also picked up a 2nd copy as well for the 2 brothers whose house we play at.  They are also not so well of financially.  And to be honest with you, short of maybe presents from their parents, I’m not sure if they are getting anything for Christmas.  They as well don’t have a game book.

So I go out, I buy 3 people presents that I know they can’t afford even though I would not normally exchange gifts with them.  In fact we’re not exchanging at all.  I’m just giving.  For no other reason than sometimes it’s just a good thing to do something nice for someone else.

And sometimes, when you least expect it, someone does something nice for you as well.

Nashena (in the previous post that I mentioned) sent me a Damaged Necklace and 5 Flasks of Relentless Assault in the mail with some pretty cool role-playing E-mails.  Good enough to where I actually checked the name on WoWWiki first thinking it was some kind of a seasonal quest mail reward.  But no, it was a player.  A 65 unguilded Death Knight who, as it turns out, has given a number of “Secret Santa” style presents to a few people in my guild.  This person dropped effectively about 1000g worth of items on me alone, not even counting whatever else they gave to others (which I know they did).

Add on top of that I got home today from shopping kind of frustrated.  My dad died on Christmas morning.  I’m not exactly the biggest fan of Christmas because of that.  So I was slightly getting bummed already.  While getting those books for the guys was a nice thing, I hadn’t planned on it (they ran about $80).  Thinking of my dad was nagging at me.  Then I had to look into upgrading my Photobucket account…  And then on top of that I forgot to turn in all of my cash at work today when I left.  So after working on X-mas Eve, last minute shopping, and everything else…  I had to turn back around and go back to work.

Oh and to top if off, one of my bosses canned one of my co-workers today.  Now…it’s not like I liked this chick.  Well, I didn’t like her at all actually.  She annoyed me.  I’m glad she’s gone really.  But I mean COME ON!!!!  It’s CHRISTMAS!!!!  Did they have to fire her on Christmas Eve?  Would it have F’ING killed them to wait till Friday to can her?

So not only am I bummed at how callous and crappy my bosses were, but I was bummed out that I was bummed about someone I didn’t even like getting fired.  I mean, that’s like a double whammy!!  You’re making me upset because you did something I wanted.  That’s wrong man!!  Damn…

So when I get home I sit down and pull up my E-mail and notice an e-mail from Photobucket.  “Oh great…”  /open

“Congratulations on your NEW Pro account with Photobucket, which will expire on December 24, 2009.”

“WTF?!  I didn’t do that yet…”  I look all around and can’t see how it was paid for or anything, and I am totally confused until I log into my website and see this comment:

“Merry Christmas SJ. Photobucket pro for 1 year.

Keep up the good work.”

Thank you Iampuff.  I appreciate it more than you could possibly understand.

So always remember guys.  Do something nice for someone you wouldn’t normally help.  If everyone did that, how magical and wonderful would Christmas be?

So…we were raiding Naxx last night and everything was fine.  We cleared 25Naxx easy.  So then we reformed a 10Naxx and rode in.  Well I zone in after I get it formed…and like over half the raid is naked.  Which is weird.  Because…well SK peeps are not *that* kind of WoW players…  >.<  You know “that” kind…  -.-  But then I noticed this.  See if you see it.

 

That’s right, the MT is naked and toting 33k hp.  So what the hell right?  We have another BLIZZARD LK BUG!!!!  Reloading my UI did not fix the issue btw.  Trust me…I did it three times.  Naked guild mates and a naked gnome to boot…  I’m scarred for life.  Had to log out.

 

 

 

 

 

So the raid went fine, and then I got dragged into some heroics.  Well…  Not really.  The whole “free rep” and “free badges” is what “made” me go.  heh  So, my party is like, “LETS GET ACHIEVEMENTS!!!!”  “YEAHH!!!!!”  And I’m like….  “Whatever…”  I’m not an achievement fan unless it involves a cool title or a rockin’ mount personally.  So they tell me to stand in front of this retarded mutant gremlin from hell…

And I do…and I get this debuff on me…because the dude barfs all over me.  I mean really?  Really??  I mean WTF REALLY BLIZZ!?!?!  So whatever right, he barfs on me and I smoke his arse.  I move on and don’t see any Achievement.  Figure I did something wrong, but didn’t really care.  So we go and kill the end boss finally and this happens…

Blizzard gave me an Achievment for getting barfed on by some mutant weirdo, kicking his you know what, and then going and kicking his dad’s arse too.  WTF IS THAT ABOUT!?!!?  I mean…c’mon damnit!!!  You guys think this is stupid too right?  /sigh

So…something’s gone horribly wrong with our Ghoul pets…  I think either my trainer at Ebon Hold is f’ing with me, or my magic has gone askew somehow…  First off, he started to seem like he “knew” things growing up into the big ghoul that he is now.  Look back at this old scroll of me in my formative years…

 

Notice his name?  Ratthief?  Well look at the quest I got.   Third paragraph, “If you grab the Zul’Drak rats…”  I mean…it was like..HE KNEW!!!!  Or something…why’d he pick that name?  So we thought it was strange.  I eyed up my ghoul for a while actually.  But he just stood there with a rat tail hanging out of his mouth, occasionally muttering, “Braaiinssss…” like a good little ghoul.  So I forgot about it.

Until the other day.  I found a magazine in his crypt!!!  That’s right, A MAGAZINE!!!

This all reminds me of gnomes though.  That’s right.  Gnomes.  You know what’s worse than a gnome?!?!  Well, yeah you’re right.  Nothing technically.  But in this case, GNOME DEATH KNIGHTS!!!!  Nothing in Azeroth, or elsewhere, is worse than a gnome Death Knight.

Creepy lil buggers.  If you ever see a Gnome DK running towards you.  Drop your !@#$, get out the door, and RUN.  These canabilistic little monsters…there’s no telling what they’ll do to your body…  /shudder  And did you know, they will actually try to bludgeon you to death with a muffin?!  It wouldn’t be that bad if they didn’t throw the Death Coils behind the damn muffins…
