SJ, what in the world happend to SS today. I was running my new Unholy spec yesterday and pulling 10k crits with it. today, I can’t top 3.5k. Did I miss something put out today?

Yes. previously SS could crit twice (once for the shadow/once for the physical) now it only crits once.

The Shadow damage from Scourge Strike will no longer be able to critically strike. The physical component will continue to be able to critically strike.

Yeah, after a few days of banging my head against a wall, I have given up on Unholy until Blizzard can fix this mess. Maybe I’m the only one who has noticed this but no only did they do that. But I can’t crit with SS higher than I hit. I know, it makes no sense, but that is the case. So Blood spec, here I come. However, I am keeping unholy as a alt spec just because it can pull some crazy AOE numbers. In one of the new Heroics, I pulled 10kdps on a mob. I have done that sever times now and am happy with that. But single target is completly screwed. Here is the funny part, with blood, I can Crit for 12.5k with Death Strike. I hope they don’t nerf that as well. lol!

Keith, from what I can gather it’s hitting mutilate style now. The physical damage hits, then it takes 75% of that and applies it afterwards and brings up a seperate number. If the physical portion crits, it will be reflected in the 75% so it’s not all bad. This is mostly according to recount however, I don’t watch the sea of numbers that come up too carefully. I checked it out when I noticed my death coils critting for 8k and my scourge strikes critting for only 4k.
