Trying to understand Ads…sigh.

Heya guys!!  As you can see I put up some ads on the right side of the page.  As you can also see they look stupid as hell and reflect my absolute ignorance of placing ads on a website.  Just further proof of my lack of web skills. 

It’s going to be an ongoing project for a long time as I stumble through it.  If you wanna click on one of them too btw, I wouldn’t be upset.  Heh.  But the ads don’t fit in their lil boxes still even though I used default settings, and other issues like it pulling up medical sites dealing with skeletons and bones.  >.<

Anyways…  Put a search engine in there too.  Should automatically filter searches by wow/dk stuff.  Hope that’s helpful at least.

While your running around messing with your website, have you considered putting up links to other Death Knight, or just generally helpful blogs?

Well at the moment you appear to have your ads set as 720 x 90 Leaderboard, you might be better off using 120 x 600 Skyscraper or 120 x 240 Vertical Banner or trying a group of square ones

I respect you for the work you do on DK builds, but do you have to have goldselling adds? If theres something that really pisses me off in Wow, its goldselling spam! Last thing we need is more of that crap.

Gold Selling Ads: First off, no clue how to set anything to make those go off or on. ATM, I still see random skeleton/bones/doctor ads. So that should exemplify my ability to narrow down the restriction fields. :P

As to linking other sites, I’ve not made any formal decisions. I linked the GM of my roomie’s guild because well…it’s my roomie’s GM. And then I linked the 3 sites that got me into this. Gimme a week or two to think about how I want to handle linking other sites, as if I start to link anyone (and future people ask me to link them as well) I’d prefer to treat everyone fairly.

Jack Sweety, links clicked, hope it earns you a few pennies. I can put up with all the adds you wanna slap on your site as long as you deliver top notch DK info….which of course you do!

Jack- Just a warning, directly soliciting clicks is a no-no and can get you banned from ad networks as it tends to piss off their advertisers who are paying for those clicks.

Jack, looking at the page source, I think you’ve got the ad height and width swapped:

See what I mean?

I do it for a living and teach to others as well as consult for others… you’ve already paid in full as long as you keep putting up DK stuff to keep me in the game.
