HTML Code – A Blogger’s nightmare…

Posted by: Skeleton Jack   in Website

Heya guys!!  So, the HTML monster strikes again!!  I’d have already had this stupid BISI post done, but nooooo!!!!  Stupid auto formating crap keeps putting weird a$$ spaces all over the place making the page look like a I had an epileptic seisure while I was writing…  /sigh

So I finally swapped over from “Visual” mode into “HTML” mode so I could see what HTML code commands were in my posts and what was happening.  For those who are unaware, SJ knows “Jack !@#$” about HTML (See what I did there? Heh).

So did that help?  Sorta.

Next thing you know I’m sitting there doing google searches on EM, LI, OL, DIV, etc…  Not fun.  Upside?  I found the damn Word Press Blog writing section keeps putting in DIV and EM commands for no damn good reason whatsoever.  I’m not even activating something to place those commands in there.  THEY JUST APPEAR!!!  Oh good lord…

So I went through and deleted ALL of them.  It was a lot.  Hell it was even doing like DIV/EM commands 4 times in a row with nothing inbetween them.  Stupid.  Anyways, not sure I’ll get two BISI’s up tonight.  But on the upside I can go back to my original draft that I use for every post and edit that one.  Hopefully that will take care of any future setbacks.

SJ HATES HTML!!

Hey SJ.

I know you hate HTML, I love it but I’m a programmer. Do yourself a favor use MS Word or Google Docs to publish your files to WordPress. If you ever read wowinsider that’s what they use to publish their blog files. You could also try using Zoho if it works with it. If you can use OpenOffice and you can find a plug in for it you can use that.

Nope, it’s only an issue on my BISI posts. Cut and Copy = weirdo issues apparently when copying links in text with preformating done in list order. So learn some import method and try to figure out how to get the style I like in word…no shot. I’ll finish my BISI and then the problem should be done with. ;) I still need to look into improving the site, forums, advertisers, etc…no time to learn that word junk. I do like to do things outside of WoW or my site from time to time. :P

Check out Windows Live Writer. You can post to your blog, spell check, and it formats stuff correctly (without tweaking the html). It also saves drafts so if your blog eats it you can re-post (yeah, that happens more often than I’d like to think about >.<)
