Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!

Heya guys!!  For those of you who are unaware, Sunday is my “bad” day.  So you won’t be getting a new post from me until much much later tonight at earliest.  Up next, Best in Slot Necks!!  The entire post is prepped and formatted already, just have to get all of the links in.  Shouldn’t take more than an hour to finish.  The next two weeks will be dedicated to finishing off the BISI posts.  It’s getting done.  ;)

If you didn’t notice, up top we have a new “page” added to the site.  Best in Slot Items.  This page will possibly get some more construction time down to road to snaz it up some.  Yes, I said snaz, as in snazzy.  Deal with it son!!  :P   Heh.  But for now, it will be a permanent aspect of the site for easy reference to all Best in Slot Items (BISI) posts.  Thanks for reading.

Hey SJ!
Hope you have a good Sunday, try not to stay too busy!
Just a thought but labeling the “best in slot” as “DPS” Best in slot, might help for future reference, if you ever do a best in slot pvp and a best in slot dare is say tanking.

Hi SJ,

Ive been trying out the addon Pawn you tipped us about here on your blog and i have to say its pretty handy at times.
My biggest problem with it is that i cant seem to find any good scales for it. Im currently using your Unholy scale together with the one from the DK DPS thread over on EJ

But i was thinking that the next thing you could do after youre done with BISI posting is actually posting your scales that you used for Exp cap / Hit Cap and so on

Preferrably for me in Pawn values but any value is ok :)

Hey SJ, Pretty unscientific observation, but wanted to toss this out there… I am at lvl 78 and /loving DW. Since I hit 78 I could smith myself some decent 1H maces and swords with comparable numbers. I then took on single targets in icecrown and noted dps recount results with the same rotation over and over and am both perplexed and overjoyed at what I discovered. I will get you equipment details later if you want, but with both swords equipped I consistently hit 7 to 800 dps, and roughly the same with both maces equipped (the maces are slower btw). Each pair is runed the same – crusader in MH and razorice in off hand. Now for the kicker – I consistently hit around 13 to 1400 dps with one of the maces in the MH and a sword in the other, again on single target lvl 80 humanoids. I’m obviously happy about this, but WTF is going on to have almost a doubling of dps? You can check out my toon pwnisher on the zangermarsh server. It was late, but I will play some more with this tonight.

The only thing I can think of is that some of are attacks might be based off of weapon damage from the MH. So having a slower MH would be good, but at the same time having a faster OH would benefit all of our white damage procs from talents. I do believe SJ has stated that two fast weapons is better than Slow/Fast only when raid buffed, and that having a slow MH is better for soloing.

Chris: on the side click macros. if you need more or want more options/opinions KungFuPuffa is my AIM.

Pwnisher: Go to a target dummy redo the test with the same rune on the offhand weapons. See how that works out. Also, if your only getting 800 DPS @ lvl 78, You are doing something wrong.

Two things.

1. Get stuck in que like me so you have time to update lol! jk.

2. Which of these best in slot should you use for a DW 31/40 build? None of them I would assume becuase we don’t have any exp modifiers so the numbers would be way different?

I plan on compiling a new list of macros for DK’s down the road, but atm I’m more focused on BISI, and then I’ve got 3.0.8 coming out soon, which means updated PvE posts for specs etc…not to mention PvP specs…etc…

BISI posts for DW are on the backburner. When I find more reliable data I will release it.
