Heya guys!! I’m about to vanish on you for a good part of the day. It’s Sunday, and for those who missed the post about Sundays before…this is my “hell” day. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of fun on Sundays. But I’m basically occupied on Sundays from 10am until 2am. Yes, that’s right. About 16 hours of my Sunday is always spoken for.
So what to talk about? What to leave you with? What to think about? Hmmm…
You could always think about me. Hot!!
Yeah, sounds pretty lame to me too, heh. Well then let’s cover some base topics really fast.
GOLD
Season 5 Arena is being released on December 17th. What does this have to do with gold you ask? This is the time to make BANK BABAY!!! That’s right!! No one spends gold on gems and enchants like PvP’ers. They’re nuts!! I’ve personally already got about 350 uncut rare gems sitting in the bank and ready to go. And still stockpiling!!
Go look around at what is on the AH now and dropping in price that will sky rocket once this season releases. Enchants and Gems are going to be the big thing more than anything else out there. Look up PvP oriented enchants as well. For example the Enchant Chest – Exceptional Resilience takes 50 Infinite Dust. The price on ID already dropped from over 10g per one to about 5g per one. But I bet you the price skyrockets to 10-15g+ at S5 release. That prepped enchant on a velum will sell for anywhere between 500-1000g when S5 releases.
Think outside the box. Check your AH for Ore, Gems, and Enchanting Mats. And if you don’t have the Auctioneer mod, I highly suggest you consider going out and getting it. The one caveat to it, is if you have any lag/fps issues with WoW then consider disabling the mod on raids, pvp, etc…
Raids are starting to get fully underway now for the rest of the WoW playerbase not in hardcore guilds like myself. So also remember that not only will PvP’ers be buying things, but new raiders will buying things for their shiny new epics as well. If you want to get an early foothold in the market of making gold, now is the time.
Hit Cap
I just did a post on the Hit and Expertise caps, but I didn’t specify this. You want to make sure you reach the Expertise cap eventually and the Melee Hit cap. But you should not keep stacking hit to reach the Spell Hit Cap. 295.11 Hit Rating is all you actually need to get as a Death Knight.
The Polls are In!!!
So the primary desire from my readers is to hear about DK DPS. And then tied for second is to hear about DK Tanking and PvP. Like the amazing movie, “The Princess Bride“…
“As you wish.”
I’ll be doing a new Poll soon on my site. Not sure what about yet however. If you have any ideas as to a really solid question to ask, whether it be about my site or Death Knights in general, give it a shout here or at my E-mail.

A Raiding Tip!!
For those of you who go to Malygos, you will find yourself placed on Spark duty if your raid leader even has an inkling as to what he is doing.
Make your Raid Leader promote you. The basic strategy for you is that you will figure out where the first spark is coming in towards Malygos. You will mark it (using the macro I will give you) and then reposition to where you are inbetween the spark and Malygos. If this will put you in front of Malygos (aka in Cleave range) you need to tell the MT to move. You and the entire raid should already have it worked out which direction the MT will pivot every time (clockwise or counter-clockwise) so that no one gets cleaved while the entire raid moves.
Once you are in position (between the first spark and Malygos) you wait for it to get to you. Immediately target it and Chains of Ice it before it gets too close. Once it’s in the right position, destroy it. Save 1 Frost Rune to Chain it a second time in case it is out of melee range (sometimes it’s too high up) or the raid is slow to help you kill it.
Once it is destroyed, the 2nd spark should be incoming shortly (if not right on top of Malygos already). Hit your target/mark spark macro really quickly and get a bearing on it. Your MT should always be trying to watch your blind side. This is typically directly opposite of you, on the other side of Malygos where you can’t see. If the spark is ever coming from there the MT should notify you when it gets close. In order to make sure the spark doesn’t touch Malygos you will have to stop attacking entirely and make sure you are close enough to Malygos to Death Grip the spark from the other side, but also to where when it lands from the DG that it is not in melee range of Malygos. Once you DG it, you immediately Chains of Ice it and burst it down.
This is how you get 2 spark buffs on top of each other every phase in a 10 man for the full damage bonus. If you have more than one DK in the raid the two of you can alternate DG’s so the raid never has to move.
Marking Macro
This will mark the spark for you and then retarget Malygos while you are attacking him. If the Skull appears on Malygos, that means there is no spark out yet. Make sure you reuse the macro once a spark comes out.
/target Power Spark
/run SetRaidTarget(“target”, 8);
/targetlasttarget
Death Grip Macro
This will Death Grip the spark, and NOTHING else. This is very important as malygos is tauntable. So if you DG him by accident because the spark got too close and hit Malygos, expect a raid wipe. I know…I did it. Heh.
#showtooltip Death Grip
/targetexact Power Spark
/cast Death Grip
None of this makes sense SJ!!!!
That’s because you did not research the fight or learn the strategy yet. Go learn it and read up on Malygos. Then it will make sense. This isn’t easy for you. You will mess up the first time around somehow. It’s cool, and it’s ok. This is a new trick to learn. Take your time, and if it helps to stop dps’ing when a spark is close to make sure you get it right, then stop dps’ing. It’s better to lose some dps and learn wth to do than to keep messing up.
