Meet Expendable Minion #1, Bonechewer

Posted by: Skeleton Jack    in Uncategorized

This is a ghoul.  Ghouls are expendable minions with their own ghoul abilities.  They are not your friends, your buddies, your allies, or your companion.  They are your butt boys.  Your ghoul will take damage for you, sacrifice his unlife (against his will) to heal you, follow your commands, and attack even his fellow ghouls.  Their reward?  None.  The way life should be.  :)   Today, you get to meet Bonechewer, my current ghoul minion.

SJ: Say hello Bonechewer

Bonechewer: Uhhh….want bones.

SJ: No, say your name you idiot.

Bonechewer: Bones?

SJ: Anyways, Bonechewer here isn’t exactly “swift”, but he gets the job done.  For example, if I tell him that that Tauren over there…

…was meaty, tasty, and chock full of bones…

Bonechewer: /leap  /gnaw  /huddle

SJ:  Well, that’s how this happens…

Bonechewer: Nom nom nom nom nom…

SJ: Eat with your mouth closed damnit!

Bonechewer: *BUUURRRRPPPPPP*

SJ: Right…well there you have it.  Ghouls.  Socially unacceptable, but they kill things!!  I can live with that.

Ghoul Abilities:

  • Claw:  This is an Instant Cast attack doing damage to the target.  It costs 40 Energy, and could be said to be similar to Sinister Strike.
  • Huddle:  This is a Channeled ability lasting for 10 seconds that reduces all incoming damage by 50%.  It costs 10 Energy and has a 45 second cooldown.
  • Thrash:  This is an Instant Cast attack doing superior damage to the target.  It costs 30 Energy and has a 10 second cooldown.
  • Explode:  This has a 1.5 sec cast time, destroying the ghoul and dealing Shadow damage equal to 25% of the ghouls maximum health to all targets within 5 yards.  It costs 40 Energy.
  • Gnaw:  This is an Instant Cast attack dealing damage and stunning the target for 3 seconds (BECAUSE HE CHEWED A LIMB OFF!! YEAH!!!).  It costs 30 Energy and has a 20 sec cooldown.
  • Ghoul Taunt:  This is an Instant Cast ability Taunting all nearby enemies within 15 yards and causing additional threat.  Be prepared to hit Huddle right away if there’s a lot of mobs or this guy is toast.  Taunts last for 3 seconds.
  • Leap:  This is an Instant Cast ability sending the ghoul instantly to a target within 5-30 yards (anything within 5 yards counts as a deadzone and the ability will not work).  It costs 20 Energy and has a 20 sec cooldown.

Power Level my DK NOW!!!!! Part 2

Posted by: Skeleton Jack    in Power Leveling

Heya guys!! ;)   This segment is a bit more accessible for those who do not wish to invest the time and/or money into a RAF account, aka “Expendable Minion Account“.  This is about EASY free exp and bonus dps from easily gotten gear.  But a bit later I will touch upon a few ideas available for those who do wish to put such time and effort into their character.  But wait…you want to bend WoW over?   Time to get those phat lewtz and zomglicious expz!!   So for now, we’ll focus on “easy” exp upgrades.  The following will be quests and items that can be simply accomplished by some travel time and an expenditure of gold and/or farming time.

Freebie Quest Exps

  1. Cryptstalker Armor Doesn’t Make Itself…  Go get 30x Crypt Fiend Parts
  2. The Elemental Equation  Go get 30x Core of Elements
  3. Binding the Dreadnaught Go get 30x Dark Iron Scraps
  4. Savage Flora  Go get 30x Savage Frond
  5. A Donation of Wool  Go get 60x Wool Cloth for each Major City you will go visit (Get 300 cloth total if you will visit all 5 cities)
  6. A Donation of Silk  Go get 60x Silk Cloth for each Major City you will go visit (Get 300 cloth total if you will visit all 5 cities)
  7. A Donation of Mageweave  Go get 60x Mageweave Cloth for each Major City you will go visit (Get 300 cloth total if you will visit all 5 cities)
  8. A Donation of Runecloth  Go get 60x Runecloth for each Major City you will go visit (Get 300 cloth total if you will visit all 5 cities)
  9. Voren’thal’s Visions  Go get 8x Dampscale Basilisk Eye

1-4 can all be turned in at Light Hope’s Chapel in EPL.  The easiest way to deal with getting these items to your DK is by the mailbox.  Simply mail these items to your DK *AFTER* you’ve actually created it.  Don’t try before hand!  It won’t work…  We’re not saying we tried or nothing…  Not at all.  */Kicks Bonechewer before he opens his mouth*

Anyways…5-8 are all turned in at each major city for your faction (5 in all for those starting to count names on their fingers).  Basically go pick up 60 cloth for each city you’re going to take the time to visit.  Also keep in mind these quests are yellow at 58, green at 63, and grey at 72.  9 is a level 62 quest as a heads up now.  Don’t bother trying to turn it in before that.  The Blood Elf *will* mock you.

MOAR DPS = MOAR EXPZ!!

  1. Nightfall  This weapon is better than your Blue DK weapon, but it must be crafted with sometimes difficult to obtain materials.  Also you must find someone with the recipie.  This could run you upwards of 600g roughly.
  2. Blade of Misfortune  This weapon is better than your Blue DK weapon, but it is a world drop.  So if you get lucky and see it on the AH, I highly recommend picking it up.  This shouldn’t run you more than 100-200g tops.
  3. Fel Iron Plate Gloves  This can be purchased off the AH or easily crafted by any BS.
  4. Fel Iron Plate Belt  This can be purchased off the AH or easily crafted by any BS.
  5. Fel Iron Plate Pants  This can be purchased off the AH or easily crafted by any BS.
  6. Fel Iron Plate Boots  This can be purchased off the AH or easily crafted by any BS.

It’s important to note that the stats of the 4 Fel Iron pieces, in and of themselves, are so close to your Blue starting DK gear that normally there would be no point in upgrading to these pieces (Especially when they’re ugly as sin!!  I won’t lie, the other DK’s are going to be laughing their arses off at ya.  You’re gonna look like a retarded kid dressed by their mom after she got high on some ganja when you equip this stuff!!)  BUT!!!  The armor increases and the 2/4 piece set bonuses really do set these over the top.  15 bonus hit rating and 20 more strength is nothing to sneeze at, especially as these items are dirt cheap.  (Pssttt…don’t sell/delete you starting Blue DK gear.  It’s hot!!  Keep it for some PIMP gear later.  The ladies dig it!)

As to weapons…if you’re playing a DK and you don’t understand why you should upgrade your weapon as quickly as possible…  Uhmm….WTF ARE you doing even looking at a DK!?!?!  o.O  Read the title of this subsection:  “MOAR DPS = MOAR EXPZ!!“  Nuff said.
